It reminds me of 2 things my friend, Sue, likes: numbers and yellow.

12 Days of Christmas

This is the cover of a mini album I did a few years ago. This is the cover. I plan to scrap some of my favorite Christmas pictures this Fall when I meet my friend, Samara, for our Archivers Day. I will be posting a page a day for the next 12 days. I thought it is never to early to get a Christmas idea.

Girlfriends.....

I am getting ready to see lot of girlfriends at CHA (Craft Hobby Association Trade Show that will be in Rosemont, IL next week.) I made this page thinking about that event.
It is true that "Girlfriends add sunshine to our souls"

I am taking a break from my glue book. (gonna let the glue dry) I will be back posting during CHA if I can get some good photos or after CHA when I have more time to create.

Moments in time

I used a page from a Good Housekeeping magazine. Good Housekeeping puts an old cover page in their issues.
I have been saving this button (from my friend Anne) and when I saw the picture, I thought the button reminded me of what the button was like on the sweet little girl's coat. The button is velvet with a design. I thought it was a great compliment to the picture.

I decided that the decorator was getting ready to purchase supplies for the next project.
This is the first page in my new gluebook. I started a new book.

"Handkerchief" Corsage...

I used a paper napkin that a friend sent me. The background was made using papers from a book written in french that I found at the thrift shop.
It reminds me of handkerchief corsages.
It also reminds me of the character from Mel's Diner.....I think she always wore a handkerchief corsage. She was the one who always said, "Eat my grits." LOL

The answer is......

I used a vintage addition flashcard, the rick rack is vintage (a gift from my friend, Lisa) and I am vint-age!! I love making this glue book.

I am enjoying some summer reading time with reading Nancy Drew. Who didn't want to be Nancy's friend and go on a mystery adventure with her? She opened the door for me as a young reader to want to go on adventures, solve mysteries and meet my own Ned Nickerson one day.

The Day we celebrate........

Today's page is in honor of our son's birthday!! He is our miracle. He was born 3 months early while I was on a vacation in Kansas City, Mo. Happy 22nd birthday to David!! We are so proud of you!

Here's for a Glorious Fourth

This didn't start out as a patriotic/4th of July page but it ended that way. LOL. I just bought some ledger papers at my thrift store and got to use them. I used my beloved Daisy D paper that I have been hoarding for years.....why did that company go out of business? These gluebook pages are making me use it and not hoard stuff.
I wish you all a Glorious Fourth as we enter into the weekend celebrations. We are headed to a family celebration (DH's aunt turns 90) and then back home. I hope I can stop at a few antique stores/or flea markets/ or thrift stores...one can dream of a new find .....LOL. (I just realized I don't have any blue or red coffee cups...*note to self: look for those!!)

Addition to my gluebook page

I added "the possibilities" to my page. I thought that made sense. If you click on the picture the image will enlarge and will possibly be more readable. I am still knocked over by this poem.

I can't stop making gluebook pages.....

The above page.....stopped me in my shoes. I was so unfocused this morning...I had made my lists and tried to get some things done. (See picture below). I kept creating this page....I was done with it. I was going to think of words to stamp on it throughout my day...words that had meaning...Then when I was checking out some posts on blogs......I found this poem. I read it and it just overwhelmed me with emotion and grabbed all my senses. I am still feeling obsessed with the words from the poem. If that is any way to describe it. I feel complete and all is good. I can now go on with my day with that poem in my heart.
If anyone knows me.....they know I make lists....I started my July list last nite. I usually take a legal pad and just write what comes to mind that needs to get done. This is what I will attempt to get done today. It is Mary Engelbright stuff. All that cutesy stuff makes me happy and makes me smile. And I always write with a pencil. I love pencils...I love to write......I love a list.

Button Button who's got the button?

I adore buttons. I was so happy when my friend, Paula, found this sewing treasure of buttons and bobbins and thread. I used the cloth covered buttons for my gluebook page for today. I often wonder about old buttons.....like was it from a favorite outfit? I tried one time to cover buttons...it is hard to do to make it come out perfectly. So for now, I will enjoy these buttons and wonder ........where did they all come from.
